Prayer:
Father God,
you call us to love and serve you
with body, mind, and spirit
through loving your creation
and our sisters and brothers.
Open our hearts in compassion
and receive these petitions
on behalf of the needs of the church and the world.
This we ask in the name of and for the sake of Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit:
One God forever and ever. Amen.

Food for thought:
“Authentic, evangelical faith cannot be separated from a readiness to act on the Word of God according to present opportunities. ... The faith that save is a surrender to God.”
