Rev. Ed Lantz preaching
Jonah 3:1-10 "The Lord Still Needs You"
Prayer:
Father God, we ask Your help to keep Your Church
focused on the things which matter most.
Help us to understand the Gospel of Your grace,
To build our lives on the words of Your Son Jesus,
And to reach out to others proclaiming forgiveness of sins
and new life in Jesus Name;
so that all who turn to the Church for help will discover Your love for them,
and experience the transforming power of Your mercy and grace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Collect for the Fifth Sunday After Epiphany based on the traditional Anglican collect.
Food for thought:
“Jesus was pleading with His people- then and now- to live in a way that would draw people toward the Father. Think about it; how we conduct our daily lives has implications that reach all the way into eternity. "
Bill Hybels and Mark Mittleberg, Becoming a Contagious Christian, Zondervan, 1994.
